In Memory of Mike Moore

On Saturday, Matt & I attended a Memorial Service for one of the long-time training officers of Claymont Fire Department in Delaware, Mike Moore. He passed away last week from a long battle of lung cancer. Mr. Moore was such an inspiration to all that he taught at the fire department including Matt. All of the firemen dressed in there blues and Matt was right there with them and honored Mr. Moore in such a honorable fashion. I was so proud of Matt on Saturday and what he stands for. As he wore his blues with his hat and white gloves and saluted Mr. Moore and his family, he touched me and everyone that was there so much! Being a fireman is not an easy job and they touch and save so many lives everyday. I am so happy that Matt is one of these men. As I walked into the Memorial Service on Matt's arm and the bag pipes were playing, I was reminded of how special all of these firemen are and how we should be thanking them everyday for what they do for our community. It is a self-less job! The service was beautiful and the family and friends that spoke of Mr. Moore touched everyone in that room. We love and respect you Mr. Moore and you will be missed! A big THANK YOU to all of the firemen for all that you do! A HUGE THANK YOU to Matt for being a fireman for over 10 years and loving every bit of it! I admire you so much and you are my hero! I love you!
