Cookies Cookies Cookies

This past Tuesday, my friend Erin had a Christmas Cookie Baking Party at her house. So me and Marybeth went over to her house and we brought all of the ingredients to bake our cookies. I made my chocolate peanut butter chip cookies, Marybeth made butterball pecan cookies and Erin made her grandma's sugar cookies! They were all soooo good!! Erin also made vegetarian chili and homemade salsa! We also had all of the fixings to top off our chili! Later that night, while the cookies were baking we had coffee and just talked forever! It was so nice! I met these two girls through my mother in law. She works with them. I am so glad that we met and I am looking forward to our next girls night!!

Girl's Weekend

This past weekend I went to Virginia to spend time with one of my very best friends Christie. We had such a fun girls weekend filled with good food and great shopping! We literally shopped till we dropped on Saturday night and then went again on Sunday afternoon. We got all of Christie's Christmas shopping done and mine is now almost complete!! I also got to spend time with Christie's family and her sweet girls! We went to some of our famous places to eat and of course saved room for some yummy drinks at Starbucks (our fav)! It was a lot of fun and filled with much needed "girl time" for both of us! I treasure my friendship so much with Christie and I'm so lucky to have such a wonderful and beautiful friendship for over 8 years! Thanks for a wonderful weekend Christie. I love you!

Thanksgiving

We had a great time celebrating Thanksgiving this year. It was really special since we were spending it as newleyweds and it was my first Thanksgiving in Delaware. We went over to my mother and father in law's house on Wednesday night and I helped my mother in law make a few dishes. We spent the night and the next day, Matt helped my father in law with some yard work and I helped my mother in law get ready for our Thanksgiving feast! Everyone started arriving around 2:30 that afternoon and we had appetizers....you name it...we had it! We played a game and then it was time to gather in the dining room for dinner. The food was great and so were the festive drinks! It was just a great time to relax and be together as a family. We were going to go home that night but we decided to stay another night and had breakfast with my mother and father in law and Joanna (my sister in law) the next morning.

I of course missed my wonderful family back in Texas but Matt's family is so similar to mine that it was like I was home! I love my new family and am grateful everyday for all of them! I am so thankful for Matt (my wonderful husband and best friend), my wonderful parents and brother and my new family and brothers and sisters...you mean the world to me, God and His wonderful blessings, my friends back in Texas who are my sisters and best friends in life, my new friends in DE, my new house and wonderful new job.

This has been an amazing year for me & Matt and we are so thankful for everyone in our lives and for the blessings that God has bestowed upon us! We are enjoying the holidays so much this year and are so thankful that we get to celebrate everything together as newlyweds. It is so special!

I'm Dreaming of a White Christmas.....

A couple of Sunday's ago, all of the Delaware Schumacher clan traveled to NYC for the day. We of course traveled in style in a beautiful limo! We played games and sang Christmas songs on the way down and of course had tons of snacks! We spent a few hours shopping and walking around in NYC. We ate dinner in the limo and then we went to see White Christmas on Broadway! It was a wonderful show and it was such a FUN family day! On the way home, we watched Santa Clause 2 and reminisced about our wonderful day in NYC.

New Bedroom

Well the bedroom is 98% done and we just have a few finishing touches to do but it's mostly completed. We have moved everything into our closets now and all we have to buy now is new bedroom furniture! We really love it and it's so cozy! Here's some pics....

Chris' Ring Dunk

This past weekend me & Matt went to College Station (the home of the Fighting Texas Aggies) for my brother's ring dunk. It is a tradition at Texas A&M that when you get your graduation ring that you have a party and dunk your ring in a pitcher of beer as fast as you can! Dad even dunked his ring too but in a glass (Go Dad)! Me, Mom and Chris cooked all day and prepared for the party. We had chicken and beef fajitas, rice, beans, guacamole, hot sauce, queso and homemade chocolate, peanut butter chip and pecan cookies (that I made thank you very much). I have to say those cookies were yummy. I made over 4 dozen and they were GONE by the end of the night. Some of Chris' friends wanted me to open a bakery...I think my friend Nicole would get a kick out of that! Nicole I am getting pretty good at the baking..maybe that's what we should do one day together. We could call it Nic & Ro's...lol! Anyways, Matt & Dad cooked the fajitas and were the bartenders...they did such a good job! We also sat outside by the firepit and the guys smoked cigars and we roasted marshmellows. The next morning me, Mom and Chris cooked a big breakfast for everyone! It was such a fun weekend with my family! We are so proud of my brother and all that he has accomplished at Texas A&M and we can't wait till he graduates in August of '09! We love you bubba!

Juliana's Birthday Party

Matt & I went to Virginia a couple of weekends ago for Juliana's birthday party! Juliana is one of my very best friend's Christie's daughter. She turned 5 and had such a great time. She had a princess throne and she deserved every bit of happiness on her special day! Juliana is so special to us and we were so glad that we could be there! We were also able to spend some time with Christie and sweet little Ashlyne (her other daughter) and her family which was a lot of fun. After the party, me, Matt & Christie all went to eat at "On the Border" for some great mexican food and yummy margaritas! Thanks for inviting us Christie...we had so much fun! I actually want that princess throne for myself now...lol! We love you!

Halloween Fun

Well I know this blog is a little late but in my world these days it's better late than never! We had so much fun on our first Halloween as newlyweds. Matt went and got us pizza (our normal friday night food) and I stayed home and got all dressed up (since I am still a kid at heart) and waited for the kids to come by so I can give out candy! The kids were so cute! Also, Jenna, Joanna (my sisters in law), Eric (my brother in law), Cheryl and her kids Destiny and Daniel (my brother in law's girlfriend) came by too for some candy and pictures! It was such a fun night!
