New Updates

Well it's been a while since I have posted anything! I am so behind! But Matt & I have been so busy with the remodeling of our house, my sister in law's wedding preparations, work and social life. We are a few weeks away from finishing the remodel of our kitchen and it's going to look spectacular. We are so excited! It has been so fun to pick everything out and make it our own. We have also been fixing our front yard by planting sod and flowers. It looks so good. The next step is to paint the outside of the house. We are also working on the backyard by putting in a patio and getting that fixed up for the summer. Hopefully in July we will be able to put new carpet in as well. I will post pictures soon of all of the house updates!

Since I have written last, my parents moved into their new house in Keller, TX and it's beautiful, we traveled to TX to help them out and we got to spend time with our friends there, my Dad, Matt, Mom, Mother in Law and Father in Law had a birthday. I hosted my bff Jen's baby shower in TX, I went to my future cousin in law Kimmy's wedding shower in Tyler and surprised her,my parents and my in laws celebrated their wedding anniversary's. We celebrated our 1 year Anniversary and went to Boston and had such a great time! I hosted my sister in law's wedding shower and it was such a huge success and best of all she loved every minute of it! All of the Schumacher siblings and significant others went to see Fleetwood Mac! It was a lot of fun! My brother finished college at Texas A&M (WHOOP) and will graduate in August. He will travel to Costa Rica for 9 weeks for his study abroad. We are so proud of him! Finally, Matt has started his Masters degree in Public Administration and I am so excited for him! The opportunities that this will bring him, will be endless!
We have obviously been really busy but life is great! I have made some great new friends and love my new job since February. It was a God send! Here's some pictures over the last few months!

Christmas 2008

We traveled to Texas for Christmas for 8 wonderful days! We had such a fabulous time! Our 1st married Christmas was everything that we had hoped it would be and more...! We spent lots of time playing games on the Wii, relaxing, cooking, eating wonderful food, drinking yummy drinks playing with Diesel Dog and just having a really good time! Me & my brother Chris decided to make candy this year....and we actually didn't do bad!! We made chocolate merlot truffles & toffee...yummy! I can't promise that we didn't have it all over us and the kitchen but we did it! It was so FUN! We also got to see Matt's family that lives in McKinney and it was so good to see them! We traveled to Tyler to have the Adams Family Christmas and it was a blast! Santa was also really good to both of us!

We were also able to have lunch with Bill & Leann and Thomas and I was able to see all of my friends that I used to work with!! Matt also got to hang out with all of his buddies that he used to work with and hang at the firehouse with too! It was so good to see all of them and have quality time with all of our wonderful friends!

My parents are in the process of building a new house in Ft. Worth so this Christmas we were cozy in their temporary 2-bedroom apartment...but...I have to say it was a lot of fun! We got to see the progress on the new house and it's going to be FABULOUS! We can't wait till it's all done and we can start making some great memories in that house!

Thanks Mom & Dad for a wonderful Christmas! We love you!

My Friends For Life

Last week while we were in Texas for Christmas, I was able to get together with some of my best friends! Me, Jen, Tiff, Lara & Julie all went to La Duni in North Dallas (one of my fav places) to eat yummy food and I had some rockin' mojitos (best in the Big D)! Me & Brielle got together for lunch at Pei Wei. Me & Nic had lunch at the Grand Luxe and shopping at the Galleria! It was wonderful to catch up and celebrate the great Christmas season together. We had such a fabulous time as usual! I missed that Maryglenda couldn't make it but you were there in spirit anyways! This year is going to be filled with lots of amazing additions to some of my dear friends. Jennifer & Maryglenda are pregnant! Maryglenda is due in Feb. and Jen is due in May! I can't wait to see these precious additions to our beautiful friendship!
I love you girls with all of my heart and cherish every moment that I get to spend with you! Our friendship has definitely lasted the test of time and I am so thankful to have you as sisters and life long friends! Thanks for being such wonderful friends!

Cookies Cookies Cookies

This past Tuesday, my friend Erin had a Christmas Cookie Baking Party at her house. So me and Marybeth went over to her house and we brought all of the ingredients to bake our cookies. I made my chocolate peanut butter chip cookies, Marybeth made butterball pecan cookies and Erin made her grandma's sugar cookies! They were all soooo good!! Erin also made vegetarian chili and homemade salsa! We also had all of the fixings to top off our chili! Later that night, while the cookies were baking we had coffee and just talked forever! It was so nice! I met these two girls through my mother in law. She works with them. I am so glad that we met and I am looking forward to our next girls night!!

Girl's Weekend

This past weekend I went to Virginia to spend time with one of my very best friends Christie. We had such a fun girls weekend filled with good food and great shopping! We literally shopped till we dropped on Saturday night and then went again on Sunday afternoon. We got all of Christie's Christmas shopping done and mine is now almost complete!! I also got to spend time with Christie's family and her sweet girls! We went to some of our famous places to eat and of course saved room for some yummy drinks at Starbucks (our fav)! It was a lot of fun and filled with much needed "girl time" for both of us! I treasure my friendship so much with Christie and I'm so lucky to have such a wonderful and beautiful friendship for over 8 years! Thanks for a wonderful weekend Christie. I love you!
